May 18, 1:00 PM
Booksigning/Launch Party for The Neptune Project
Barnes and Noble
Park and Preston (2201 Preston Rd)
Plano, TX
On May 18 the Barnes and Noble at Park and Preston in Plano hosted my launch part for THE NEPTUNE PROJECT. It was a very colorful event, complete with a giant remote-controlled shark balloon, Pin the Tail on the Dolphin and Fishing for Prizes games. We also raised over four hundred dollars and received dozens of donated books for My Very Own Book, a local literacy charity which works to get new books into the hands of elementary students in low income neighborhoods. A former Girl Scout leader, I teach writing workshops to local troops, and they turned out in enthusiastic numbers to support this wonderful cause. I was a little concerned that Bruce, the shark balloon, might crash in the Biography section or startle BN patrons, but Bruce behaved well and a fine time was had by all!
